How does Laser Hair Removal Work?
Lasers are narrow beams of light formed by one or multiple wavelengths. During laser treatments for hair reduction, the laser light targets pigment cells, called melanin, that reside in the hair follicle. Once the melanin is targeted, it absorbs the light energy, converts it into heat, and ultimately burns all the way down the hair root and follicle, preventing future growth.
Since hair goes through a resting and growth cycle, multiple treatments are needed to permanently remove hair. When hair is in its resting part of the cycle, it may not be able to absorb enough laser light to destroy the follicle. Typically, between 4 and 6 sessions are needed to permanently reduce hair quantity and thickness.
Laser hair removal is extremely safe as long as it is performed by a trained and certified laser technician. At A New Dawn Wellness Center, we are committed to our clients’ safety and well-being, which is why our laser hair removal treatments are performed with state-of-the-art technology in a safe, well-maintained environment.
Why Choose SplendorX Hair Removal?
In the past, laser hair reduction was extremely painful, slow, and ineffective. Not anymore. SplendorX by Lumenis is the first laser to utilize both Alexandrite wavelengths (for lighter skin tones - 1,2, and 3) and Nd:YAG wavelengths (for darker skin tones - 4,5, and 6) for a faster, more efficient, and pain-free treatment. While other lasers use high settings of a single wavelength, which makes hair reduction so slow and painful, the SplendorX blends lower settings of both to harness their unique properties and tailor the treatment to your skin and hair type.

In addition, the machine’s unique square-shaped laser spot provides a faster and more uniform coverage of the treatment area. No overlap, no burns, and no retouching of missed areas. Combined with a built-in plume evacuator and dual cooling system, the SplendorX offers comfort, quality, and safety in every step.

Some patients experience mild redness and swelling around their hair follicles, which can last up to 24 hours. However, there is no downtime and you can return to your normal activities right after.
